Arguably the best movie ever made about canoeing. (No, Deliverance doesn’t count.) From the National Film Board of Canada, of course. I can watch it for the umpteenth time, and recall canoe trips that have been and dream about canoe trips to come. Pretty much sums up what Ontario and canoeing means for me. Released in 1984, although some of the imagery was recorded more than a decade earlier. With a fitting soundtrack by Bruce Cockburn. (Also worth checking out is Song of the Paddle and Paddle to the Sea.)
