Living On A Membrane ( Seba Remix ) – P.B.K.
Feature this bass sound in your track, and I’m guaranteed to at least like it.

Not the best remix he’s ever done, but decent nonetheless.

Stay The Same – N4M3 & KIJE
It could be argued there is a tried and true formula at work here. Slow, rumbly bass, fast snares, vocal sample, whooshy synth melody line. But good god damn, when the formula produces stuff this appealing, why not.

About a month ago I posted Parov Stelar’s Lost in Amsterdam. Today it’s another track about requiring directions in a large city where Dutch is spoken.

Signage: Rusted Sign
Came across an old sign a while back, that was curved right around a pole and rusted all to hell. Covered by a new sign, one that was flat and connected by a bolt at the top and bottom. Snapped some photos, but it was 11 in the morning, very sunny, and I was in a hurry. Passed it again the other night at 7, overcast, and I was in no hurry.
I admit to loving what entropy does to things. It often brings out some really appealing qualities that new perfection can’t begin to approach.
And the funny thing is that when I passed it the first time, I never thought to check the other side. Strangely, it’s not nearly as rusted.

Broken Buckle
Walking home from work, my bag suddenly and without warning ended up on the ground.
I know the hardware (plastic - metal not so much) will be the first thing to break. Given that I’ve been using this bag in frequent rotation for about 3 years now, it seems that’s its breaking point. I carry anywhere between five to 20, 25, 30 pounds in it for hours a day. They were quality buckles (National Molding Rock Locksters), but they reached their limit in that time and under those loads.
Being the very prepared guy I am, I just so happened to have some para-cord and crash shears with me to rig up something to allow me to continue carrying it over my shoulder till I got home.
Not pretty, but good enough to last for a while.
(Addendum. Since the straps were sewn right into the bag, the only easy fix was to just cut off the remains of the buckle and sew a loop of webbing onto the webbing that was there with a new buckle.)

R&B from 1985. The male vocalist is Alexander O’Neal. Although I don’t know that I had ever heard the track before (may have), I recognized it from part of it being sampled in Junior Jack’s “My Feeling.”
