Bibliophilia: West Coast Blues by Jacques Tardi

A terrific French noir story, a bit of a hard-boiled Hitchcockian affair, set in the late 60s, early 70s. A young executive witnesses a murder and then becomes a target of the hitmen himself. With no other options left to him, he goes on the lam and with some help he rights wrongs. There’s a malevolent energy to this story. It’s adapted from a crime novel by Jean-Patrick Marchette, and done in Tardi’s updated ligne claire style.
