The latest offering from Vree Industries is the M-23 Tecumseh. A light tank, designed specifically to be air droppable, so as to give airborne forces added clout, or to deliver armour capabilities anywhere a Hercules can land. One can also be carried slung beneath a Chinook.
The M-23 is constructed from a top secret polymer compound, developed by a Danish manufacturer.
Light, yet strong, two of them can fit in a C-130 Hercules.
It’s covered in the very effective Brick-o-Flage©®™.
The M-23 is equipped with a 90mm main gun, co-axial 20mm cannon, 7.62mm hull mounted machine gun, and a 12.7mm machine gun atop the turret.
The Tecumseh can reach a top speed of 90 km per hour, with an effective range of 600 km.
Named after a native warrior who helped the Canadians defeat the Americans in the War of 1812. (Don’t argue with me. The Canucks beat the Yanks.)
The M-23 is manned by a crew of 3 – Commander/Assistant Gunner, Gunner/Loader, Driver.
Its light weight makes it particularly well suited to difficult terrain, not to mention that it fails to set off many mines.
The Tecumseh is powered by a Vree Industries VI420 engine. This powerful 420 horsepower diesel engine requires much less maintenance than many comparable engines.
The main gun can serve as both an anti-vehicle weapon as well as a howitzer.
The front can be mounted with either a hedge cutter (as shown here) or an optional bulldozer blade.
A case on the back of the turret allows for storage of necessary tools.
Drivers compartment.
