Not too shabby...

Went shooting a while back – for the first time in a looooong time. Shameful how long it’s been. But even if it has been a few years, I don’t think my first time behind the gun in a while was anything to hang my head in shame about. 5 rounds, .22LR, at 100 meters, prone supported by a sandbag. Not too shabby, if I may say.

  1. Well done! Do you wear glasses or contacts? I have astigmatism and it is difficult, sadly, that I can't use iron sights very well. Just picked up a BSA 'Sweet 22' scope for my 10/22 and a 'Sweet 223' scope for my EBR. Looking forward to getting them sighted in here in the near future.

    1. I do have fairly mild astigmatism and wear glasses. I have prescription sunglasses and find that is what I wear most. When I get indoors, dealing with stuff at indoor ranges it is fine, and can do without glasses. I have regular glasses, but only wear the when I am outdoors at night or at the movies.

When I was younger I found that peering through an aperture seemed to improve my vision a little bit. Not sure if there is any merit to it, but shooting without glasses, the aperture seemed to focus my vision a bit.

I really need to get my ass to an optometrist soon. It has been a while since my last check up and I am prone to glaucoma and need to get that checked too.
