I went for a wander on Saturday and took some photos from atop the Escarpment, looking out across Hamilton, Burlington, Lake Ontario. Did a pretty half assed job of piecing the photos together, but it conveys the idea of the view you get from atop the plateau.
At West 5th, where James Mtn. Rd. and the Claremont Access connect with it.
Same direction, but a bit closer to the James St. stairs, which has a slightly more obstructed view.
From there I headed east towards Sam Lawrence Park, which has a sweeping view and nothing much to block it
Then I walked even further east towards the Wentworth stairs, a 500 step whopper. Went up and down it twice. And from there I trekked home.
