Bald Eagle Cam

I’ve made mention of the bald eagles that have taken up residence near here over in Cootes Paradise.

There has been some mention of them in the news the last few days due to the fact that they have laid eggs and bird lovers are anxiously hoping to see some young eagles soon. Which will be the first eagles born in this area in a half century or so.

I just came across this camera set up above a bald eagles nest in Decorah, Iowa. 80 feet up, 5 to 6 feet across and just as deep, and with a weight of about 1½ tons.

You’ll want to turn the sound down (wind whipping across a microphone doesn’t sound pleasant) and there will be an ad. But if you’re at all interested in eagles, this will give you an idea of what it looks like in the nest above the shore of Cootes Paradise.
