Damn, allrighty this blog gets more interesting seeing your taste of music. I made a reply on your FreeHand ode a few days ago and now digging a bit deeper, I discover your "Song(s) of the Day" and here I find Norken, Legion of Green Men, Shulman, Bluetech, Pitch Black, and all kinds of Electronica, Minimal Beat, and PsyAmbient wonders. Some other good stuff I hadn't heard before but this is definitely my playlist. It's the soundtrack I have playing in the background while working and designing.
I put stuff like this up in the hopes that it gets other people turned on to it as well.
My tastes are pretty broad, but I tend to really like this kind of stuff - evocative, sets a nice mood, mellow, yet it's still got a good groove to it. Like you say, I find this sort of music great to work to. Engaging, yet not distracting.
And me and those Legion of Green Men guys go back a ways. http://exploriment.blogspot.com/2009/09/6-of-post-contemporarity.html
