Lego – H.A.R.D.

In the year 2113, the Baltic States will become the worlds leading arms manufacturer. With the discovery that they’re sitting on the worlds largest and only supply of Indestructium, they turn their attention to manufacturing advanced weapons systems. They form the Latvian Electro Gyrobot Organization (or L.E.G.O. for short).

One of the models of gyrobot that they produce is the Heavy Artillery Railgun, Dragoon (or H.A.R.D. for short).
Essentially a walking gun platform, equipped with two pivoting High Energy Railgun Ordnance (or H.E.R.O. for short) cannons.
The feet are large and heavy in order to brace it while it fires. The back of the feet are equipped with outriggers to help brace it even further. When it needs to move it raises the outriggers and walks to the next location.
The cannons have the destructive power of two 155 mm howitzers in a very small package.
The H.A.R.D. is only semi-autonomous. It has only limited sensory inputs. Simple visual inputs, but no intelligence gathering ability. It can see where it’s going, recognize obstacles, go over them or around them, keep itself upright and moving no matter what the terrain. It can recognize friend or foe, and defend itself if necessary. But largely it’s just an externally controlled artillery platform. It receives data and commands through the two antenna on the back from either tactical sources like land or air reconnaissance element who can identify immediate threats, or from strategic sources like command and control elements who lay out the overall course of battle. It receives its power through the large coil on the back. When it starts to run low on power, it signals its need, and a Large Airborne Battery Ship (L.A.B.S. for short) sends down a burst of electricity that recharges the batteries that will allow it to continue operating.
The top of the head consists of large vents to dissipate the heat build up from the cannon firing.
In addition to the main cannons there are also two smaller cannons (Medium Energy Auxiliary Lasers - M.E.A.L. for short) on the legs. Largely for self-defence, they can transition from a less lethal sting to a structure crumbling blast.
The H.A.R.D. is somewhat limited in the terrain it can operate in. The weight of the feet alone restrict it to operating in terrain with fairly dense ground.
The cannons can pivot through a large arc, and it can also bend the head up or down with the hip joints.
The head can turn 360°.
The accuracy of its cannons is reputed to be 99.837%. Accurate enough to destroy a religious zealot about to blow himself up in a crowded market, and leave the innocent bystanders unscathed.
No matter what your needs are, L.E.G.O. can build a gyrobot to suit your needs. Hostage rescue, border defence, installation protection, reconnaissance, you name it. Built with the latest technology and a mixture of Unobtainium and Indestructium, these machines will fulfill all your needs for a long time to come!
