South London Boroughs – Burial
Yesterday, Burial referenced the UK, and today the geographical Burial reference continues with “South London Boroughs”.
I think I’d dig this track more if I could slow the pitch down a little.

S.o.t.D. - Loner – Burial
Loner – Burial
I think this might be his most upbeat tune. It’s Burial. It’s great.
The above video, staring at this imagery very intently, will do weird things to your senses. Dreamachine imagery.

You could also watch this video instead – a stylishly filmed bit of the old ultra-violence. Blighted environment, gangs battling. Taken from “Rivolta”, which was directed by Marco Prestini and Marco Santi.

You In Me – Volor Flex
Aaaaanndddd continuing the Burial Archangel theme for one last day. Another track that samples Archangel. I think this is my favourite of the lot.

S.o.t.D. - Archangel – Burial
Archangel – Burial
There’s something I really like about Burial’s sound. Whether it’s the overall unpolished production, the crackly, fuzzy effects, the unrigid drums, with their little slips and off kilter hesitations, or those ominous, yet warm basslines - he’s doing something right to my ears. Whereas some electronic music has the life produced and polished right out of it, sounding very quantized and mechanistic, his work is like a breath of fresh air.
The violins are samples from Metal Gear Solid 2 for PS2 soundtrack, and the vocals are sampled from “One Wish by Ray-J”. They are repitched and altered to an almost unrecognizable degree.

Wayfaring Stranger (Burial Remix) – Jamie Woon
Nice vocal track to begin with and then when that beautiful but kind of eerie Burial sound is added to it - choice. Love the little tinkling sound of spent brass here and there.
