Reminded me a little bit of one of my favourite books, Rien Poortvliet’s Gnomes, in how it paints a very rich picture of an alternate world. The third one is okay, but the first two I liked a whole lot. Heroes, villains, epic quests, betrayal, life and death situations, these have it all.
