Owl’mups

Got a Schrade Credit Card Knife. Decent sheath for a production knife, but I decided to have some fun and make a new sheath.

And what emerged was the Owl’mups, the world’s first embroidered Great Horned Owl neck knife sheath.

First came a leather sheath for the knife to sit in. It’s not pretty, but it won’t be seen.

The head was made up of four separate pieces. The edges were merrowed by hand to hide them.

The leather sheath was attached to the back.

The head was sewn to the back piece. The front chest was sewn to the back. Then the wings were sewn to both. The wings form a pocket on the back.

The head is held in place, and it in turn holds the knife in place by a snap that sits in the center of the finger ring.
